K-8 Scholastic Championships

8/14

This month's K-8 Scholastic Championships had a good mix of newcomers, regulars, and kids in between. Regardless of whether they had been there before or not, all the kids had fun. They all left with smiles on their faces and either trophies or medals in their hands. There was great sportsmanship all around, from the youngest section all the way to the oldest section and from the first to the fourth round! There were many close rounds and the final scores were all very close. There were so many high scores that tie breaks were needed to discern the final standings.

There were 8 players in the K-2 section, with Avery Beck taking first place with 3.5 out of 4 points! Following him in second and third was Aaron Wang and Jasmine Thiessen, each with 2.5 points. Cary Wang and Arav Ramaswamy came in fourth and fifth place respectively with 2 points each.

The K-5 section saw the most players with 12 players. This section took the most time to complete and ended up not finishing until almost half an hour after the other two sections finished! This section was so close that the gap between the first and the fifth places was only 1 point! Zahin Bashar won first place with 3.5 points but the second and third place winners, Graydon Leicht and Max Ingargiola, had 3 points. To continue the closeness, Thomas Schiwek and Ayan Makode came in the fourth and fifth places respectively with 2.5 points each!

The K-8 section had only 5 players and was the first section to finish the tournament. Mia Kai took home first place as the only person to get a perfect score of 4 points after she won all four rounds! She was followed by Andrew Gray, Eddie Li, Ethan Price and Bradley Barker in second through fifth place respectively. Andrew earned 3 points, Eddie and Ethan both took hom 2 points and Bradles won 1 point.Congratulations to all the participants and thank you to all those who came out and made this event a success! We hope to see you all again soon!
