Saturday G/45 Quads

Although there were plenty of surprises at today’s G/45 quads, Sean McGuinness winning another section with a perfect score was not one of them! Sean has been a roll lately, and it will be interesting to see if he can continue his great run now that his rating has caught up to him. Meanwhile, the super talented Max Lu (rated 1557) won a very competitive swiss section ahead of three players rated over 1700! Max picked up nearly 100 rating points for his efforts! As impressive as Max’s tournament was, it did not compare to the performance by Matthew Faille in the top quad. Faille rated just below 1800 going into the tournament won all of his games against an 1800, an expert and a master! Faille picked up nearly 130 rating points in the process and now sits at his all time peak rating! Don’t miss next week’s exciting quads.
