Fairfield County Spring Team Championships

This year’s Fairfield County Spring Team Championships drew the most competitive batch of teams (including 11 masters) to date with less than 200 points separating the top team from the bottom team.
“The Asian Knightmares” initially ranked 6th/10 and comprised of NM Furqan Tanwir, Akira Nakada, Derek Chen and Haruki Izumi, upset the top seed in the first round. They continued to their solid play and finished the tournament in clear first with a score of 3.5/4! Each player earned $100 for their efforts.
“One Young, Three Old” with Ryan Young, Hanon Russell, Alex Eydelman and Guy Colas took second place on tie-breaks earning $50 each. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who participated!
