2013 Ivy Collegiate Championship

4/13/13 – 4/14/13

For the second consecutive year, the Chess Club of Fairfield County hosted the Ivy Collegiate Championship.  Four schools (Brown, Harvard, Princeton and Yale) and seven teams participated.  The favorites, Princeton-A and Yale-A faced off in round two.  After the bottom three board split points, it all came down to the match between FM Michael Lee for Princeton and WIM Yuanling Yuan for Yale.  In the end, Yuan could not fend off the higher rated Lee’s attack and the match went in favor of Princeton.  Princeton-A went on to win all four rounds and took home 1st place honors! Yale-A rebounded after their 2nd round loss and finished in clear 2nd.  Harvard deservingly won the prize for the top team U2000.
