Saturday Quads

March 17th,

Four close-knit sections meant that there would be many thrilling games and unpredictable results at this Saturday’s quads.  The top section was won by Fide Master Nelson Castaneda who won all of his games!  With this victory he has now won the last two tournaments at the club with a perfect 3/3 score.  Can anyone stop him???

The second quad was won by second seeded David Steinberg, however it was youngster Julian Wang who stole the show by defeating expert Hanon Russell in the first round!

Another perfect performance was put in by Michael Morin in the third quad.  Morin was never in any danger and finished a full 1.5 points ahead of his nearest rival.

Finally, the fourth quad was also extremely competitive with four players rated within 300 points of each other.  This quad was decided in the final round in a showdown between top seeded Ellen Rosenfeld and the always dangerous Aidan Coimin.  Coimin won the game to complete the third perfect score of the day and haul in a nice rating gain of over 100 points!

Congratulations to all of the winners and we are looking forward to another fun and competitive event next week!
