Scholarships: The Chess Club of Fairfield County provides assistance to qualified students based on their financial need. We believe that children facing hardships and of any socio-economic background should have the opportunity to benefit from all that chess has to offer. In addition to helping children learn essential life skills through executive functions (impulse control, emotional control, flexible thinking, working memory, self-monitoring, planning and prioritizing, task initiation, and organization), research has shown that children that play chess show improvement in both math and reading.
Individuals, corporations and other organizations that are interested in supporting this worthy cause should contact us at ccfc@fairfieldcountychess.com to learn more about how to sponsor a child.
Parents in need of financial assistance can apply for scholarships for their children to participate on the Dream Team. As spaces are limited, recipients should demonstrate willingness to learn, passion for chess and commitment to the program. Click here for Scholarship Application
